Call for Presenters - PNWATRA Annual Conference

 PNWATRA CONFERENCE: January 30. 2015

Conference Theme: “Therapeutic Benefit of Recreation for Those Experiencing Disability” 

Presentation Topic Suggestions:  Creative presentations that speak to benefits of recreation for individuals experiencing disability.  Suggested topics include but not limited: innovative programs, evidence based practice, applied research, and program needs.  Last year our theme addressed development within the Therapeutic Recreation field.  This year we want to offer presentations that dig deeper into the importance of what we “do” and innovation for the future.  

Presentation Submission Deadline: Friday, October 17, 2014 

Proposal Requirements:

-Presenter biography and contact information including address, phone, and email.

-Presentation description including three measurable learning objectives and how the presentation fits the theme of the conference.

-Presentation outline including length of presentation.Audio/visual needs list

-Submit any requests for accommodations, travel, presentation support, or speaking stipends.

Special Considerations: Web-based presentations will be considered and are strongly encouraged.

Portland Parks & Recreation Recreation Coordinator I –Adaptive & Inclusive Recreation

(Temporary Appointment)

 

Purpose:

Work involves assessing, planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating a full range of recreational and leisure service activities specifically designed to support the defined needs of people with disabilities/special needs; recruiting, selecting, and training therapeutic recreation staff; supervising volunteers and directs seasonal/casual staff.
