We are currently seeking a part-time Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for our main Seattle campus. This position is a temporary six-month assignment covering for maternity leave, with potential to become permanent. In this important role you will provide individual assessment and intervention for the purpose of developing or restoring appropriate leisure lifestyle and participation in community activities for patients with physical, mental or social limitations who are served on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. You will work in a team-oriented environment, partnering with experts in the field of Rehabilitation Medicine, encompassing Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech and Language, and Rehabilitation Psychology.

Must be certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification) and as a Registered Recreation Therapist through the WA State Department of Health to qualify. A Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation is required. Experience with TBI, SCI and Pediatrics is a plus. Experience in planning and directing activities for children with disabilities and experience in a therapeutic rehabilitation setting, preferably CARF accredited, are desirable.
